Nursing Home Outreach

A volunteer team go to the North Jersey Nursing home, next to Wayne General Hospital each Wednesday. They transport the Catholic patients to the dining room where Father celebrates Mass for them. They visit with patients and have lunch with them. With the help of the Social Concerns and Outreach Committee, they purchase and distribute gifts for the patients at Christmas time. Also, our deacons conduct Communion Services at the Sunrise and Summerhill Assisted-Living Facilities.

Nocturnal Adoration

Members of the Nocturnal Adoration Society of Wayne keep a vigil with the Lord in the Blessed Sacrament once a month on the Thursday before the First Friday here at Annunciation. The vigil begins at 9:00 PM and ends at 1:00 AM on Friday. There are rotating bands of parishioners from our parish as well as Holy Cross, Our Lady of the Valley, and Immaculate Heart of Mary. There is opportunity for confession, communion, and recitation of the Divine Office. One is free to come at any time but please contact the parish to join the society.

Scouting

The parish sponsors both an active Cub Scout Pack (Pack 127) and Boy Scout Troop (Troop 127). The leaders and committee persons plan numerous activities, trips, and learning experiences for the boys. The Boy Scout Troop has enabled more than a dozen young men reach Scouting's highest and most prestigious award, the Eagle Scout Award.
